My first round opponent was Saber Afif from Holland. When we played against each other some 3 years ago at Langenfeld Cup it was me who won in close games. This time it was quite a different meeting and I knew also a chance to get in the 2nd round when not playing against any Asian at such a strong tournament...

The play was equal but I could create more pressure. Both of us would always make a couple of points and then lose the lead again so in both the sets the score was 19:19. I was more confident then and won always 21:19.

The second round was rather difficult against the 2007 World Junior Champion Chen Long of China. In the beginning it was very difficult for me to get used to the pace of the Chinese and I added too many unforced errors... But the second game was a bit better, I managed to stay in the rallies longer and also take something for future matches. So I hope I will benefit from this next time :-)
