This years event was kind of special because we were hosting a team from India. 6 players were lead by a big friend of mine Mr. Surinder Mahajan, Sports Authority of India national badminton coach. The team was also accompanied by Mrs. Sangita Lahkar, mother of one of the players.

Together with my coach Radek Votava and fellow players we had the unique opportunity to spend a month´s time in his place in Chandigarh, India. Both 2002 and 2006 visits were interesting badminton and life experiences. These two visits always meant a big improvement in my badminton performance.

The guests spend a fortnight in our country and in that time they did not only play badminton, but also enjoy the beauties of our small historical town of Cesky Krumlov, they visited Prague and played another international badminton tournament – this time in Slovakia. The venue of that event was close to a local spa with thermal water and lots of swimming pools. The Indian children had a chance to try to learn how to swim and enjoy so much water they have never seen before.

Mr. Mahajan spend in Europe more than a whole month and besides leading a training camp for hobby players in Lendava, Slovenia he spent some more days in our town. And we had a great time together and we have already started to plan another visit to his place in Asia…
